Laney Konz, Co-Editor-In-Chief
I’m Laney Konz, a senior at Edgewood High School and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Cougar Prints. I’ve been able to watch our newspaper grow from its first publication as a sophomore all the way to our third year of Cougar Prints as a senior, and the progress we’ve made has been huge. Now, we are making a switch to our own website, and I’m excited to see how this will elevate our paper!
After high school, I will be attending Xavier University as an English major, and I am undecided on whether I want to minor in Political Science or Creative Writing. I am also a part of Xavier’s University Scholars (honors) program. At the high school, I serve as President of the Class of 2021, an officer of the National Honor Society, a member of the Middletown Community Foundation Youth Council, and I play on the Varsity softball team.
Watching our newspaper grow over the past three years has taught me a lot about taking on a leadership role and working with other students to bring quality news coverage about EHS to our community. I’m so proud of everyone who has been a part of our group and those who will join us in future years. If you’re thinking about joining Cougar Prints, I highly recommend taking that step if you’re able to — the bond you form with the staff is unexplainable, and I will definitely miss it! Enjoy reading!
