Winter sports seasons have come to an end, bringing on the baseball season. The baseball team had a successful season in 2021 with about a .500 average overall.

Returning Junior, Colton Hunt had a successful season last year. “ Last season did not go as well as planned, however, we did win a few important games that kept us in one of the top spots in the league.” Returning varsity starter and senior, Kaden Davidson believes that the teams have been working to turn the team around in the 2022 season. “We have been putting in work since November on the field and in the weight room” Both players agree that there’s some big talent on the team. “Jesse Thompson has been putting in a lot of work and is looking really good in scrimmages,” Said Kaden.

While both players are confident in the team’s ability to play they’re still ready for some tough games against rivals. Colton said, “ We play Badin who is not only ranked in Ohio but also in the nation.”

Kaden and Colton both have big personal goals for this season. Kaden said, “ I want to do whatever I can to help my team win games and win the conference.” “My goal for this season is to make the SWOC first team. I believe we can get multiple guys on the first team this year,“ Colton said.

Kaden has some priorities he wants the team to focus on “ 1. Win SWOC 2. Limit the errors 3. Pick each other up when things go bad 4. Have fun.” Colton has goals for the team as well, “Our team goal is to win SWOC. We have been talking about it since the season ended last year and everyone on the team is excited about SWOC play this year.”

Kadens is confident that he and the team can win the league title, “ Absolutely! We just need to play as a team and take care of the little things.” “ I believe we have the potential and the talent to win the SWOC this year, ” Colton agrees.
