It’s almost musical time! This year’s musical is, SHREK! Brittany McClelland, EHS English teacher, is the director bringing the show to the stage. She has all the information for the upcoming May musical.
Mrs. McClelland hopes to lift the spirits of those in the audience, ”I kept envisioning how much joy it would bring not only to those that participate in the musical but those that come and watch.” The musical compared to the movie is not a huge change, but there are some changes. “The music is definitely different but the main story is there and the characters that everyone has come to love or hate will be there.” she explained. She was looking for a lot of students to participate.”We are hoping for around 30 students to audition and be a part of the musical.”she stated. Tickets will be available online for the May 6th, 7th, and 8th show dates. “The cost will be $10 dollars for general admission and $8 for students.” she said.

“There are lots of opportunities for students to get involved. Even if they are not into singing or dancing, we have opportunities for tech crew.” she said. Tech crew consist of painting and designing sets, working with lighting and sound, working backdrops, applying stage makeup, helping with costumes, and moving sets on and off the stage during the performance. This show offers a way for many students interested in many aspects of theater to get involved.
