Mr. Kash was a longtime community member, serving as a bus driver, coach, counselor, teacher, principal, and superintendent in a thirty-plus-year career within the district. On January 12, 2021, Mr. Kash passed away.

Edgewood Business Manager and Varsity basketball coach John Thomas, along with other board members, decided to dedicate the gym floor at the high school to Mr. Kash because he was a “coach, mentor, and friend” to anyone he came in contact with. Even with the passing of Mr. Kash, Coach Thomas believes that the court was “special then, and it’s special now” because it will always represent love and dedication.

Athletic Director, Greg Brown, strongly believes that “his name will always be etched in Edgewood history, and his impact he had on people will be far-reaching” as time goes on.

Mr. Kash is also honored in the Athletic Hall of Fame as a coach. For many years to come, Mr. Kash will be remembered as a token of inspiration for athletes and community members alike.
