From small corporations like Village Perks and State Street Coffee, all the way to big corporations like Starbucks, they all have one thing in common whic is seasonal featured drink options. With fall coming in, seasonal drinks are on the menu to put people in the fall mood.
The fall menu is a seasonal change to the normal menu to add certain drinks that give the season’s vibe. Every coffee shop is different, in what they sell, the energy they have during this time, and of course, how good the drink is.
After careful conversation with inside sources (EHS juniors Amelia Harris and Kylee Jackson), the new fall menus are revealed.
State Street Coffee, in Trenton, carries drinks like pumpkin spice year-long. Instead of a new fall menu, they have new drinks from a recent movie: Beetlejuice, which brings a more Halloween-type drink for the season.
Amelia Harris, a State Street Coffee barista and EHS junior describes the menu changes. There’s a new addition along with the drinks to increase sales, as people are getting the Beetlejuice drinks in these cups that go along with them.
“Sales have been super good, they’ve been selling really well, a business partner of State Street makes glass cups with graphics of the Beetlejuice, and people are buying those as well,” Harris said.
State Street’s most popular seasonal drink is “Ghost with the Most” and the ingredients to make the drink are limited and are meant to run out within a certain time after being put out. Once they run out, the drink is discontinued. State Street is often coming out with new drinks year-round.
“Diane, the boss, is really good with having a variety. Everyone can find something they like.” Harris stated.
Village Perks, a Seven Mile small business, also offers a new fall menu. The small and intimate coffee shop has brought back its seasonal charm. In addition to the common pumpkin spice, Village Perks adds additional drinks every fall which include things like Sweet Pie Chai and Spice Banana Bread Chai.
Edgewood High School senior, Maggie Stamper, a three-year Village Perks customer says the energy is very welcoming and warm and recommends everyone to try the small business and feel the fall mood!
“Their flavor is like none other, I love pumpkin so I love the taste of it and the drinks taste like you’re drinking a cup of fall,” Stamper said.
A final place that’s released a new abundance of fall drinks is America’s second-largest food chain by sales, Starbucks. Kylee Jackson, a Starbucks employee, gave the inside scoop on the new drinks which consist of Pumpkin Spice Latte, Pumpkin Cream Coldbrew, Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai, New Iced Apple Crisp Non-Dairy Cream Chai, Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato, and iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso.
“Anything pumpkin flavored is always the most popular for fall,” Jackson stated.
This contributes to the overall idea that pumpkin is a fall flavor that will always come back in during the fall season.
