The EHS Football team has three new athletes taking their talents to the next level. Seniors, Brycen Robertson, Declan Hitte, and Brayden Fitzwater plan to continue playing football in college.
Brycen and Declan are going to Wittenberg University and Brayden is going to the University of Findlay.
Brycen will join several former teammates on the Tiger’s roster.
“I decided to go to Wittenberg because there are a lot of former Edgewood kids that go there and I am very excited about the team’s history and their facilities,” said Robertson.
Brycen has high expectations and many goals for these next four years at Wittenberg.
“During these next four years my goal is to work hard and get my degree and be the best athlete I can be for Wittenberg,” said Robertson, a Business Management major.
Offensive lineman, Declan Hitte, is also becoming a Tiger.
“They have a really good career path for me and it’s also close to home, and the facilities are like the D1 schools I have visited,” Hitte said.
Hitte is undecided on his major however, is between Psychology and Sociology with a minor in Criminal Law.
Hitte has many aspirations for his next four years.
“I want to start college ball and become a great player for Wittenberg and also achieve above a 3.5 GPA through my four years,” Hitte said.
Both Hitte and Robertson’s favorite memory on the field was the 2022 OHSAA Playoff victory over the Piqua Indians.
Linebacker, Brayden Fitzwater is heading up I-75 to the University of Findlay.
“I chose the University of Findlay because of the people, the strong Christian values, outstanding academics, and their high-level football program,” Fitzwater said.
Despite playing linebacker at EHS, Fitzwater will transition to the offensive side of the ball to play running back.
Brayden, who wants to major in either Finance or Entrepreneurship, has many targets set for his future at Findlay.
“I have many goals and aspirations at the college level that I expect to accomplish, but two especially are to be an All-American football player and to grow as a man to become the best I can be,” Fitzwater said.
Brayden’s favorite memory was building relationships with his teammates.
“One memory I will always think about when playing football is all of the bonds this game has brought me since I first laced up my cleats and put my helmet on back in kindergarten at Edgewood,” Fitzwater said.
