Easter traditions could be celebrated in different ways. Here are five people, and how they celebrate their Easter day. Riley Tice, Alexis Benjamin, Brynn Barker, Talan Smith, and Rylei Bryant spend their days pretty similarly, and with their families.
“We wake up early and then we go to church and then we go to my grandma’s house after and have an easter egg hunt,” said Riley Tice.
“We always go to my grandparent’s farm and we have an easter egg hunt and we have a golden egg and whoever finds it gets $20.00,” said Brynn Barker.
“We have a family Easter egg hunt at my mom’s house, then we’ll go to church with my family and we’ll sit through the service. My church has an easter egg hunt too, and we also have an easter egg hunt at my dad’s house,” said Rylei Bryant.
“We color the eggs before Easter day, and then we hide them. Then we find them on Easter day, and then we get dressed and find our baskets, then my mom cooks … and then we also go to this butterfly museum every Easter for my mom” said Alexis Benjamin.
Talan Smith says “[We] go to church, go to my grandmas, eat and watch the kids collect eggs.”
They all have similar days, yet there are some differences in who they are with or when they celebrate. For Riley Tice the golden eggs are extra special as they have money in them, usually around $5.00.
“I remember there would be just regular eggs and then she (my grandma) would have these golden eggs,” Riley shares. “He was my cousin, he had hidden it (the golden egg) in his hood and he was walking around, I strangled him [by] his hoodie and got the egg.”
Rylei Bryant ends up having a lot of easter egg hunts, she has them multiple times with her family.
“With my dad, I have 5 siblings,” and “At my mom’s, I have three siblings. We also do one at my nanny’s house which is [about] 4 to 5 kids,” said Rylei Bryant.
Alexis does her egg hunt with her sister.
“My mom hides the egg, [then] me and my sister find them, but we also hide the real eggs; the plastic ones are the money ones, like the golden egg, but we do also put candy in the eggs,” said Alexis
Each year can be different but have happy memories. Everyone will have a different idea of a good Easter day and what one was the best one.
“My grandma would do mini easter baskets … some are premade baskets that you can get at Walmart and they have the like big activity baskets,” said Riley Tice.“ When I was little I was really big into Roblox, and she put in 2 10$ Roblox gift cards, so I think that was probably my favorite at the time.”
“There was one time I got a 100-dollar bill, so I think that was my favorite because Chick-fil-A was calling my name that day. [Another great] memory I had was with my grandpa and … this is when my mom found out she was pregnant with my sister and in the egg it had a shirt that said I was going to be a big sister” Alexis says.
“When my cousin brought her little brother and he found the egg and he got excited,” said Brynn
“[It was] my younger cousin’s first Easter, we d him up as the [Easter] bunny, that was pretty cute,” said Talan.
“Seeing all my little siblings get excited when they find [an egg] … they screamed [with excitement]” said Rylei Bryant
