The EHS Girls Lacrosse team is entering a new era. Kristin Butler is entering her first season at the helm of the team. Coach Butler has her own coaching style.
“I hold the girls accountable for their actions, while hoping to still grow their love of the game, ensuring that they learn and take practice time seriously,” Butler said.
Junior Midfielder Kamdyn Buck is looking forward to the new coach.
“She’ll be good for the team and she’s experienced and familiar with the team as she was the assistant coach last year,” Buck said.
After a 7-11 record last season, the team plans to improve this upcoming season as they head into their second year as a varsity program.
“I will give a shout out to my seniors for my standout players this year. Most of them have stepped up to attempt to take on leadership roles within the team,” Butler said.
The Lady Cougars will open their 2024 campaign as the team travels to Miamisburg on March 19th. Kamdyn Buck is very excited to start this season. Buck led the team last season in goals, assists, caused turnovers, draw percentage, and ground balls. According to MaxPreps, Kamdyn is ranked 29th in D1 Lacrosse.
“I’m very excited for this season and can’t wait for it to start,” Buck said.
Buck also has high expectations for this year’s team.
“I’m hoping to have a winning record [as a team] and score my 100th career goal,” Buck said.
Coach Butler, also has high hopes.
“My expectations of them this year is to leave it all out on the field and improve their own individual stats from last season, the biggest challenge so far is getting the girls to realize that they are one team. The other difficult part is making decisions on who will start and who will be subbing in. Many of the girls are deserving of the starting role,” Butler said.
