At Edgewood High School students have a wide variety of classes including AP and CCP courses.
Sophomore Grace Harris takes CCP classes at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
“You can take any class you want at Miami,”
said Harris.
CCP classes are not really higher class levels but you can take the courses at any time.
“I started when I was in my 8th grade year,” said Harris.
Senior Gracie Ann takes a lot of AP classes this year and has taken some in the past. Even if you have passed the class all year you could still fail the class for the quarter.
“You have to take a test at the end of the year and if you don’t pass the test then you don’t pass the class and you have to redo it the following year or semester,” said Ann.
Counselor Jane Cottingim enrolls people in AP and CCP classes. She knows what it takes to pass these courses.
“Working hard, determination, communicating, self-discipline, and participating in a class community are just a few important aspects of AP and CCP students,” said Cottingim.
When enrolling into AP classes, just remember that those classes are not free.
“AP classes cost approximately $100 and students are required to sign a contract,” said Cottingim.
There are a lot of AP courses to take and only a certain amount of students are willing to enroll in these classes.
