This year’s senior homecoming king and queen are Wyatt Walker and Brynn Barker!
Voting for homecoming king and queen started the week prior to the homecoming game. The whole school had the opportunity to vote for who they thought should be a part of homecoming royalty.
After being nominated, Wyatt and Brynn were crowned before the October 6 football games against Valley View. Wyatt never saw this coming.
“I always thought it would be cool to be homecoming king as a kid, but I never expected it to be me,” Wyatt said.
Hearing his name stunned the EHS wrestler and football captain.
“When I heard my name being called for king, I was excited but also it was very unexpected so I had a sense of shock at the same time,” Wyatt said.
Brynn thought someone else would win too.
“I was very excited and shocked, I wasn’t expecting to be queen. I thought one of the couples on court was going to be king and queen,” Brynn said.
When Brynn heard her name get called for homecoming queen, she only had one other wish for that moment.
“When I won, I thought about how I wished my dad was there to experience everything with me,” Brynn said. Brynn’s dad lost his battle with cancer in September.
Wyatt and Brynn’s friends and family were fully supportive and excited for them.
“My friends all congratulated me and my family was super proud of me”, Wyatt said.
“My friends and family were so excited and happy for me”, Brynn said.
Overall, both Wyatt and Brynn were excited and appreciative for winning homecoming king and queen for the 2023-2024 school year.
