Rylie Homan, a senior, is an attacking midfielder for the girls soccer team. She has a deep appreciation for the team that she gets to play with.
“My favorite part of soccer is spending time with my friends on the bus rides before and after games,” Rylie said.
The student section is an essential part of the performance of the athletes, and part of what makes soccer so special to Rylie.
“They always cheer you on, and make playing soccer so much more fun,” she said.
Playing soccer since she was 3, Rylie led her team to a big win over Fenwick. Rylie had three assists and two goals in that matchup. In addition to helping the EHS team, Rylie has played on several traveling soccer teams
“I started playing club soccer for Middletown Extreme, then I played for Tempest Extreme and Tempest Heat,” Rylie said.
Rylie’s soccer career has left her many memories, including a hat trick her freshman year against Deer Park.
“I think I was chosen to be Athlete of the Week because I am a great team player and work hard to contribute towards a lot of our wins,” she said.
