Megan Foster, the artist of Cougar Prints’ banner

The Cougar Prints banner has been updated with a fresh new design by EHS ’22 alumni, Megan Foster.

Megan was very excited to design a new banner for Cougar Prints. “I’ve never really drawn something for public use or anything like that. I’ve only just gotten private commissions or just drawing for myself,” she says. Her goal was to give the banner a “cougar-esce” look and decided to incorporate the claws of a cougar. I thought ‘oh, what about a cougar or a big cat really represents that kind of animal?’ You think ‘oh, their claws,’’ she says. For Megan, the most challenging part of creating the banner was getting the proportions and dimensions correct. “It was strange, to say the least,” she says.

Megan has had an interest in art ever since she could pick up a pencil. “It’s a passion of mine that I hopefully want to pursue as a career,” she says. Her interest in digital art comes from watching speed painting videos on Youtube, which are sped-up videos of artists drawing using digital programs. “I was like ‘oh, I wanna do that,’ so I tried looking into free digital drawing applications on some app stores and just taught myself everything,” she says. Megan plans to attend college to pursue her interest in art. “I wanna continue creating designs in the future for like animated shows or any kind of game or books,” she says.
