Edgewood Alumni, Xavier Fugate returns to EHS and takes up the position of varsity girls basketball coach this season. Coach Fugate has been involved in athletics at Edgewood High School for a very long time and he’s been coaching for the past 4 years as well.

“I’m super excited and it’s always been a dream of mine to return to Edgewood, I love the community and the people.” Coach Fugate has a lot of confidence in his team as well. “… I’m really excited to be taking over a very good team.”

Coach Fugate seemed like it was an easy decision for him to take the step from a junior varsity boys basketball coach to a varsity girls head coach. “Beinkg a head coach is always something I wanted to do. I talked with my wife and we agreed this would be a good time to switch over to womens.” Even though the season is four months long, Coach Fugate says “Its been going great so far but it’s going by in flash.”

Coach Fugate has very high expectations for his team and believes they’re capable of accomplishing a lot. “I want to win the SWOC title and I would love to see this team win a couple of playoff games.”
