The EOC tests, also known as AIR tests, are state-mandated end-of-course tests which mean students have to take them. There are six different tests students have to take. ELA 2, Algebra 1, Geometry, Biology, American History, and Government. The freshman, sophomores, and juniors will take the tests.

Students have been preparing for these tests during school. Junior Emilee Barker says, “ There are some classes where I keep papers that have important vocabulary or information that I have been told to keep by teachers.” Junior Mary Capone said, “ I’m not worried about the tests. It’s a little stressful knowing that we have to meet a certain score.”

These EOC tests are very important in order to graduate high school. Assistant principal Mr. Ahlers said, “They have to earn certain scores in order to meet the graduation requirements.” If a student does not meet the requirements, they will have to retake the test.

There are a bunch of ways to prepare for the tests. Mrs. Centers, counselor, wants everyone to know that,  “They should take their time, try their best, it’s also easier to that time now then have to retake the tests.”

The ELA tests will be on March 30 and 31. The American History test will be on April 13. The Government and Biology tests will be on April 14. The Algebra 1 test will be on April 20 and the Geometry test will be on April 21. The tests will be in the morning, in the classrooms.
